Jewish Origins

In its institutional role as guardian of the Jewish heritage of Cherasco, The Foundation in agreement with: the Jewish Community of Turin, the B. and A. Terracini Archive of Jewish Traditions and Customs, and the Codess Cultura, in order to:

• Open the Synagogue of Cherasco, the old School and part of the Ghetto to the public. The project, began in August 2002.
• Display the photographic exhibition by Giorgio Avigdor, “Jewish Life and Culture in the 18th and 19th centuries within the Ghetto in the rooms which were originally home to the De Benedetti family
• Preserve and safeguard the Jewish Cemetery of Cherasco;
• Create a scholarship or grants for research on the Jewish Community of Cherasco
