Prof. Lia Addadi is the Dean of the Feinberg Graduate School at Weizmann Institute of Science of Rehovot (Israel). She completed her Ph.D. at the Weizmann Institute in 1979 in structural chemistry. Her research interests include biomineralization, molecular recognition, antibody interactions with organized surfaces and the molecular mechanism of cell adhesion. Research in these fields may further the understanding of such diseases as osteoporosis and atherosclerosis, as well as of amyloid-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s. She has also provided new insights into the design of materials with unique properties. Her numerous awards include the Prelog Medal in Stereochemistry by the ETH (Federal Polytechnic Institute, Zurich, Switzerland) and the Spiers Medal of the Royal Society of Chemistry.
Mr. De Benedetti is an entrepreneur in the private equity industry. In 1984 he graduated in Mechanical Engineering and began his career in management consulting (KPMG Consultants) and corporate development (Piaggio Group). He is currently the Chairman of B&E Equities, which focuses primarily on alternative investments (private equity, venture capital, financial real estate etc) in Italy and abroad. In the past 15 years Mr De Benedetti has acquired and managed companies in a broad spectrum of fields such as: mechanical, chemical, facility management, financial services, real estate, diagnostic in vivo, diagnostic in vitro, telecommunications, information technology, concrete, security, and consumer electronics. In 2002 Mr De Benedetti and his wife Elisabetta Salza, incorporated the Fondazione De Benedetti-Cherasco 1547.
Laureata in lettere classiche e lingue orientali all’Università degli Studi di Torino, dal 2006 Claudia De benedetti è Vice Presidente e Amministratore Delegato della S.Jung & Co S.p.a. Dal 2008 siede nel Consiglio di Amministrazione della Nuova Siet S.p.A. Dal 1996 al 2008 è stata Vicepresidente e Amministratore Delegato della I.A.S. Attiva nel campo della conservazione e promozione dei beni culturali ebraici, la dott.ssa. De Benedetti è Vice presidente dell’UCEI, consigliere della Fondazione Arte Storia e Cultura ebraica di Casale Monferrato e Piemonte Orientale, oltre che curatore del locale Museo di Arte e Storia Antica Ebraica dal 1987. Dal 1995 è docente alla Facoltà di Giurisprudenza di Torino, autrice di numerose pubblicazioni sulla cultura ebraica e la storia del diritto italiano.
